My Favorite Platter

Sunday night's dinner of Chicken Pot Roast was proudly displayed on this beautiful platter. I pull this platter out for use with every family dinner we host, and every holiday dinner is served off this platter. I acquired this platter from Lia the night the kids and I helped them move out of the townhomes several years ago. This platter was given to Philip and Lia by Philip's mom and Lia was ready to toss it in the trash! (she strongly despised it!) I rescued the platter from certain death and have offered to return it several times, but the offer has always been declined, much to my relief! I love this platter! I use this platter all the time and every time I pull it out to use, I think of Lia and Philip and that night and I smile. I want her to know how much use it gets and how grateful I am to have it!

Just Some Pictures....

Hey, is there anyone out there who wants to be a photographer wannabe and take family pics for me? (when the weather's nice...)

April 3, 1993

April 3rd, 1993 - the day Mike and I got married. We just celebrated our 16 year wedding anniversary and 20 years and 3 months of togetherness! We are amazed at how the time just seems to fly by. Instead of going out on a dinner date to celebrate, Mike and I stayed home with the kids, and James and Kaylie fixed us a wonderful dinner and dessert which we enjoyed while we watched our wedding video. Kids included. Mike and I watched our video, that was made by our brother-in-law Brent-who did a fabulous job!, with goofy grins on our faces the whole time. The kids couldn't believe how "young" everyone looked. I think they really enjoyed seeing their aunts, uncles, grandparents, and older cousins as they were at age 4, and 6, dancing on the dance floor, and we especially loved seeing the family and special friends that are no longer with us. We had a super DJ come from Las Vegas, who totally made our reception the best! We all had fun watching and laughing at the part where he married us "Vegas style" with vows being re-said in rap form. It's been a wonderful 16 years, ups and downs included, with the best part being our children. We've been very blessed and neither one of us would trade it for anything! (I have absolutely no idea why several pics are turned wrong and I can't seem to fix them either - sorry)
